Atlanta has one of the highest tree canopy coverage percentages of all the largest American metropolitan areas (Nearmap 2023; CGIS, CQGRD 2008). Trees are a critically beneficial part of the urban environment, but they are living things that get sick, get damaged, and die. They can also present conflicts and challenges in the context of land development, property ownership, and other forms of infrastructure. My job is helping people navigate these variables in a responsible way that maximizes the benefits of trees and minimizes the risks or problems that can arise within the complexities of the urban environment.

I’ve been working as an independent consulting arborist, municipal arborist, and plant healthcare provider in Atlanta metro for over five years. I’ve provided tree inventories, health assessments, risk assessments, tree protection plans, and tree care prescriptions and health services for over one-hundred different homeowners and builders/developers. I pride myself in delivering science-based, clear and detailed reports and plans that effectively communicate and document all the relevant considerations for a tree or entire site.

I’ve worked as a horticulturist and arborist for the City and County of Denver, CO and Mecklenburg County, NC. Beyond my professional life, I’m a husband and father of two daughters. I enjoy hiking, camping, mountain biking, soccer, and designing landscapes with native plants. I’m also a lifelong Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan – though I enjoy working with clients from all fan bases : )
